Everyone is sending messages of congratulations in anticipation for the birth of Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman's first child.  But what about the wife of Kidman's ex?

Star magazine reported yesterday an inside source told the tabloid that Katie Holmes, wife to Kidman's famous ex, Tom Cruise, sent the couple a baby basket with toys and essentials, including a Neiman Marcus baby blanket.

The "insider" didn't fail to give the mag a cash amount, saying, "Katie wanted the best of everything in the basket. It cost over $2,000."

No baby baskets for daddy-to-be, his is still working. Urban will make a guest appearance on Lee Ann Womack's new album, Call Me Crazy, which appears in stores this fall.

Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise has apparently hit a rough patch. He is getting very few offers to play lead roles.

According to some reports, Cruise wanted to make Mission: Impossible 4 but he was rejected by Paramount. Instead he got an offer to produce it. Cruise decided not to accept the offer.

The studio wants to continue the franchise with a younger star and leave Cruise completely out.

He is also having a tough time with Germans. Cruise's new movie Valkyrie has come under criticism. He plays the Claus Von Stauffenberg, the German leader who tried to assassinate Adolf Hitler.

The Germans are upset with Cruise's company for altering photos of Stauffenberg to make him look more like Cruise. Alterations were reportedly made to the nose, chin and eyebrows.

Step aside, Brooke Shields and Matt Lauer Tom Cruise has a new celebrity to argue matters of mental health with.

Cruise's lawyer, Bert Fields, and Dr. Drew Pinsky of "Celebrity Rehab" are embroiled in a war of words over a remark Pinsky made in an interview with Playboy magazine, people.com reports.

In the interview, Pinsky speculated that "neglect" during his childhood may have led Cruise to join the Church of Scientology. Fields called Pinsky a "posturing flake" who "pretends to diagnose people he's never met," people.com reports.

Pinsky's rep countered that "under no circumstances is Dr. Drew making a blanket diagnosis about Scientology nor Mr. Cruise, whom he does not know. Dr. Drew was simply using Mr. Cruise as an example of someone who is recognizable to help the public understand."

But Pinsky also apologized to Cruise, again through his publicist: "Dr. Drew meant no harm to Mr. Cruise and apologizes if his comments were hurtful."

Tom Cruise has been warned that he needs to visit hospital with Katie Holmes urgently.

Tom and Katie have been partying on a ship which contains a high level of asbestos.

It is not thought that Suri was at the party on board the Scientology cruise ship.

John Travolta is also at risk because he was at the party.

The cruise ship had a high level of the blue type asbestos.

A toxicologist told OK magazine: "This is the most dangerous type of asbestos because the fibres are smaller than the white asbestos and can penetrate the lung more easily.

"Once diagnosed with mesothelioma, the victim has six months to a year to live.

It gradually reduces lung function until the victim is no longer able to breathe and dies."

Scientologists are currently investigating the findings. Tom Cruise has not released a statement.

The foursome have all celebrated birthdays or other functions aboard Church of Scientology cruise ship the MV Freewinds, which was recently discovered to be contaminated with dangerous levels of blue asbestos.
Toxicologist Dr. Chris Coggins says, "This is the most dangerous type of asbestos because the fibres are smaller than the white asbestos and can penetrate the lung more easily." Asbestos particles can stay dormant in the lungs for years before causing a deadly cancer called mesothelioma.
Dr. Coggins adds, "Once diagnosed with mesothelioma, the victim has six months to a year to live. It gradually reduces lung function until the victim is no longer able to breathe and dies."

After a headline grabbing, couch jumping appearance back in June of 2005, Tom Cruise is making his triumphant return to The Oprah Winfrey Show.

“Tom will be doing the Oprah show,” Cruise’s rep Julie Polkes told People magazine. “He is really looking forward to it.”

The show will appear in two parts during May sweeps, celebrating the Top Gun stud’s career since hitting the big screen 25 years ago in “Risky Business”.

People reports tell that “One part will be shot in-studio before a live audience. In the other, Cruise will show Winfrey around his Telluride mountain retreat and do a portion of the interview at the home.”

Madonna has defended Tom Cruise, saying he is a 'marginalised' person, just like those in Malawai.

The popstar spoke up about Cruise after he and wife Katie Holmes attended a reception for Madonna's charity, Raising Malawi.

When asked if she sympathised with him, she said: 'I don't care if people worship turtles or frogs – if they're good people, that's all I care about, and he is a good person.'

TONGUES are still wagging in Hollywood that actress Katie Holmes and Victoria Beckham are drifting apart, after one brushed the other off in an LA restaurant.

Holmes was notably absent from Victoria's 34th birthday celebrations last week, and now the UK's Daily Mail reports they acted as if they didn't know each other when they unexpectedly met at The Polo Lounge in LA.

"Tom got up and bear-hugged Victoria, but Katie didn't get up from the table. It was strange," a diner said.

But a spokesman insists they are still best pals: "They all had a drink together. And Tom and Katie and David and Victoria were all out for dinner together last Friday."

Observers will be keen to see if Holmes appears at Victoria Beckham's bigger birthday party tonight. 

LATEST: Employees at UCLA Medical Center have been snooping into the hospital records of celebrities including TOM CRUISE as far back as 1995, a former worker has claimed.
James Duckstad tells the Los Angeles Times that officials at the L.A. hospital fired a group of staff, including himself, in 1995 for looking into the computer files of patients such as Cruise and Dom DeLuise.
Earlier this month (Apr08), former UCLA employee Lawanda J. Jackson admitted she improperly accessed the medical records of over 60 patients, including Farrah Fawcett and Arnold Schwarzenegger's wife Maria Shriver, in 2006 and 2007.
Duckstad says, "It was news throughout the whole hospital that employees were fired for screwing around in the computer. This was in 1995, and here we are 13 years later - and either they didn't follow the policy or people didn't take it that seriously."
However, UCLA's Dr. David Feinberg says, "(We are treating this) extremely seriously. If we failed in the past, we will do everything we can to improve our systems."
Earlier this year (08), UCLA Medical Center bosses fired 12 people and suspended six others after discovering as many as 20 staff members had attempted to defy medical centre rules and obtain confidential information about Britney Spears.

Unable to cope with her husband’s watchful eye, the actress plans to flee their family home in Los Angeles to take up the offer of a role on Broadway.

However, the potential move is causing tension with Tom over their daughter Suri, and who she will stay with during the trial separation.

An insider tells Star: "She desperately needs to be on her own for a while, but there's no way Tom is going to let her take Suri away. There's no way he'll allow it.

“He just doesn't want Katie, or Suri, out of his sight for long. He told her that if she goes to New York, fine, but he goes with her."

To add to the drama, Tom is reportedly taking the role of both mommy and daddy to the tiny tot.

The source adds: "Tom wants to call all the shots when it comes to Suri. He has a lot of rules, and there's conflict."
