Three-time Academy Award®-nominated actor Tom Cruise and Academy Award®-winning actress Halle Berry will present at the 84th Academy Awards® ceremony, telecast producers Brian Grazer and Don Mischer have announced.

Cruise was nominated for his lead performances in “Born on the Fourth of July” and “Jerry Maguire.”  He also was nominated for his supporting role in “Magnolia.” Cruise was recently seen in “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol” and will be seen next in “Rock of Ages.” His other film credits include “Tropic Thunder,” “War of the Worlds,” “Collateral,” “Minority Report,” “A Few Good Men,” “Rain Man,” “The Color of Money” and “Top Gun.”

Berry won an Oscar® in 2001 for her lead performance in “Monster’s Ball.” She was recently seen in “New Year’s Eve” and will be seen next opposite Tom Hanks and Hugh Grant in “Cloud Atlas.” Berry’s other film credits include “Frankie & Alice,” “Things We Lost in the Fire,” “Die Another Day,” “Swordfish,” and the first three “X-Men” films.

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2011 will be presented on Sunday, February 26, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center®, and televised live by the ABC Television Network. The Oscar presentation also will be televised live in more than 225 countries worldwide.

The pair are reportedly set to announce their engagement, UK newspaper the Daily Mirror reports. According to the paper Frencher, 23, has already spoken to Isabella's father Tom Cruise about proposing.

A source told the paper: "Tom and Nicole think Eddie is a great kid, and couldn’t be happier. The fact that he is a Scientologist is obviously a boon, too – they’ll be Scientology royalty. "Eddie and Bella have been dating for some time but have deliberately kept their romance under wraps. The couple decided to go public at (her brother) Connor’s birthday party recently because Eddie and Bella have discussed marriage."

The source added: "They won’t be getting married anytime soon but they are getting pretty serious very quickly."The daughter of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman has also tweeted a snap of what appears to be an engagement ring, perhaps hoping that Frencher will be paying close attention.

She tweeted: "I adore this! #yesplease." The post was later removed. Isabella, 19, stepped out with her beau at her brother's birthday party in Los Angeles two weeks ago. Frencher is a member of the indie music group, ae (pronounced ‘ay’) with band mate Adam Cude.

According to his "About Myself" section on OurSites.org, Frencher writes: "My dad introduced me to Scientology. He has been a Scientologist since before I was born, so I have been a Scientologist all my life."

Connor and Isabella have lived with father Tom since his high-profile divorce from their mother Nicole Kidman in 2001. Throughout their childhood, they were home-schooled and following the controversial religion Scientology, just like their father. In an interview two years ago, Kidman revealed her sadness that their children had chosen to live with their father instead of her.

Kidman now splits her time between Australia, LA and Nashville, Tennessee with husband Keith Urban and their two daughters Sunday and Faith. She said: "They live with Tom, which was their choice. I'd love them to live with us, but what can you do?

"They are healthy and sane and together and are great, great people."In an interview in 2007, their stepmother Katie Holmes claimed Connor and Isabella called her "mum."She said: "His first two children are incredible, really smart and kind. They call me mum."

The Village Voice posted a very interesting article last week about how the Church of Scientology’s leader had Tom Cruise’s assistant (another Scientologist) provide him with daily reports on the actor's life.

The spying started once Tom began seeing Nicole Kidman and he began to slowly cut ties with the church at the persistence of his soon-to-be bride and her parents. Unhappy to let a big star (and obvious obsession) pull away, the church's leader planted a spy to ensure that their aggressive plan to coax him back was tailored according to whatever weaknesses or problems Cruise had been facing.

So basically they spied on him, manipulated him, and then brainwashed him. Fun times!

The Church's defected second-highest ranking executive participated in these daily briefing calls and alleges Tom's assistant would tell him what was "happening with Nic [Nicole Kidman], what was happening in the household, and what was happening between Tom and Steven Spielberg." The reporting began in the early 1990s.

See, this is what happens when you roll with the Scientologists. You get your phone bugged, you are consistently followed around town by a non-descript white moving van, and someone goes through your trash. You can’t even trust your assistant.

Is this a church you would want to call you own?

Maybe I am just old school. I prefer a church where I only have to show up on Sundays or maybe even just major holidays. No one asks questions, they are just happy you are there and hopeful you will drop a large chuck of change in the offertory basket. I prefer a relationship with my Priest that is distant and cordial. They don’t need to know that I watch Keeping Up With the Kardashians while running on my treadmill or that sometimes I watch Jersey Shore while my daughter plays with her blocks beside me. I like them to think I pray regularly and spend all my free time giving back to others. Why bother them with the reality that I usually reserve praying for finding parking spots and sometimes when faced with attending an 8:00 am service or sleeping in my pillow usually wins?

Tom Cruise is following in the footsteps of his Beverly Hills neighbour David Beckham by buying a mansion on the island of Malta. However, the 49-year-old actor has set his estate agents a daunting task, as he wants a living room that measures 2,000sq ft.

The ‘Mission Impossible’ star has hired Milan property firm Allessandro Proto Consulting, which had helped him find homes in London and Italy, to find a “suitable residence” on the Mediterranean island.

“Tom always wants to buy a new property to his exact ­specifications, even if that entails knocking down a few walls,” a leading daily has quoted a source as saying. Apparently, Cruise fell in love with the island last year when he visited Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who were renting Guarena Palace, an 18th-century fortress-like villa in Qrendi, while Pitt was filming ‘World War Z’. The source also revealed that Malta could turn out to be the location for two sci-fi thrillers Cruise is planning to shoot this year, including ‘We Mortals Are’.

“Tom likes the idea of having both a vacation home for his family and a permanent working residence in a region noted for its great location backdrops and natural light,” the source said. “He almost certainly wants the living area so it can also be used as a meeting and entertaining room,” the source added. His wife Katie Holmes, 33, and their daughter Suri, six, are also said to have fallen in love with Malta.

Between his roles in "Rock Of Ages," "One Shot," and "Horizons," Tom Cruise is one of the busiest guys in Hollywood. And according to director Doug Liman, he's about to get busier. In an interview with Collider, the "Bourne Identity" director revealed that he hoped to nab Tom Cruise for his next film, "All You Need Is Kill" with Warner Bros. "It's just figuring out everyone's schedules," Liman said.

In the science fiction thriller, Cruise would play a soldier who keeps coming back after being killed after an epic battle with aliens, which Liman couldn't be more excited for. The film is an adaptation of the graphic novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. "I just fell in love with the script. There is no other formula for me, in this business. If I'm not in love with the script, there's nothing," he said.

The search has long been ongoing for a pair of leading ladies to appear alongside Tom Cruise in the latest sci-fi project from TRON: Legacy helmer Joseph Kosinski. While the flick is based on Kosinski and Arvid Nelson’s upcoming comic book series, Oblivion, it has yet to settle on an official title. Universal briefly flirted with an alternative name, Horizons, but for now, the studio has merely settled on “untitled” instead.

Increasingly-popular actresses like Jessica Chastain (The Help) and Hayley Atwell (Captain America) were among the starlets being eyed for the two female lead roles in Cruise’ new venture into the realm of sci-fi/action. However, the parts have instead gone to another actress who was also previously said to be a contender – and an actress who wasn’t officially connected to the the project prior to now.

Previously titled "Oblivion" -- the illustrated novel upon which the movie is based -- the fantasy-adventure stars Cruise as a former solider who is the last person on an Earth devastated by a war with an alien race.

Previously scheduled for release on July 3, 2013, the movie is now due in theaters July 19 of that year.

Michael Arndt ("Toy Story 3," "Little Miss Sunshine") is rewriting the script. Earlier drafts were written by William Monahan ("The Departed," "Body of Lies") and Karl Gajdusek ("Trespass," TV's "Dead Like Me").

Peter Chernin and Dylan Clark are producing the film through Chernin Entertainment alongside Barry Levine and Kosinski. Jesse Berger and Dave Morrison will executive produce. The resume for 30-year-old British actress Riseborough includes "W.E." and "Never Let Me Go." She will next appear opposite Clive Owen in "Shadow Dancer," which will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, followed by "Disconnect" (starring Jason Bateman) and "Welcome to the Punch" (James McAvoy).

Riseborough is represented by CAA and Independent Talent Group in the U.K. and manager Jason Weinberg of Untitled Entertainment. Kryulenko, 32, is a Ukranian-born actress who starred in the last James Bond film, "Quantum of Solace." She will star in Starz’s upcoming series, "Magic City"; and also appear in a yet-untitled Terrence Malick project, opposite Javier Bardem and Rachel McAdams.

Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise must be doing something right, as he is constantly getting praised by his fellow actors, especially for his work on the forthcoming movie Rock of Ages. Previously, Steven Baldwin praised Tom Cruise for his amazing singing voice in Rock of Ages and now his co star Bryan Cranston has spoken out about what a hard worker Tom is and how he is such a great actor.

Cranston explained, "I don't think there's any harder working actor in Hollywood than Tom Cruise. He's a lovely guy and he's astonishing in this role.” He then continued by adding, “I look at that character that he portrays and I don't see Tom Cruise. He has taken over this guy."
 
It is not just his work on Rock of Ages that has been getting praised though. Recently, High School Musical actor Zac Efron praised Tom Cruise for taking the time to teach him how to ride a motorbike. Does anybody in Hollywood have a bad word to say about Tom Cruise? It does not look like it. You can see Tom Cruise in Rock of Ages when the movie is released on June 1 in the US and on June 8 in the UK.

Figuring prominently in that jam-packed schedule are three of the world's biggest movie stars — Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp and Will Smith. Here's a sneak preview of where to find them.

Rock of Ages
Cruise plays shirtless music icon Stacee Jaxx in Adam Shankman's big-screen rendition of the Broadway hit that's built around rock songs from the 1980s and is set in L.A.'s own Sunset Strip. Shankman's previous credits include 2007's "Hairspray" — apt considering how much of the stuff is on display in the glam metal era love story that also stars Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Alec Baldwin, Paul Giamatti and Russell Brand, among others. Opens June 1.

Dark Shadows
Depp re-teams once again with filmmaker Tim Burton for this adaptation of the cult TV series centered on the travails of lovelorn vampire Barnabas Collins. The ensemble cast also features Eva Green, Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter and Jackie Earle Haley, and the film is set to include a cameo from Alice Cooper, who is hired by Barnabas to perform at his seaside Maine home. Makes sense — the movie is set in 1972, after all. Opens May 11.

Men in Black 3
Smith, who hasn't starred in a film in four years, is time-traveling back to one of his best-known roles as Agent J with this third installment in director Barry Sonnenfeld's science-fiction comedy franchise that launched in 1997. Josh Brolin steps in to the series as the younger incarnation of Tommy Lee Jones' alien hunting Agent K. Opens May 25.

Hollywood action hero Tom Cruise has lent his considerable muscle to the hunt for missing Ben Needham. Cruise, who has almost two and a half million followers, has now helped spread the story of Ben who disappeared from the Greek island of Kos 20 years ago, around the world.

And he has been joined by fellow Hollywood actor Tom Arnold and Coronation Street’s Kym Marsh who have added their weight to a renewed effort to find Ben. The 24-hour Twitter marathon, ‘tweet 4 Ben’, was run by Scott Morrison from Peterhead, near Aberdeen, who was so moved by the disappearance he set up a website for Ben’s mum Kerry Grist 15 months ago.

The mega tweet, which aimed to get 10,000 followers on Facebook, caught the attention of Cruise and he has now helped spread the word of Ben’s disappearance. Kerry, 39, said at her home in Ecclesfield in Sheffield: “I was shaking my head when I saw what was happening. There was one after another after another, people wanting to help find Ben.

“Among them were these top names, from Hollywood to Coronation Street. There were so many different celebrities. I just couldn’t believe it. “The social networking site is an amazing tool. If we had had this 20 year ago who knows what would have happened. There was a message that Tom Cruise had re-tweeted, it was like a different world, it was unreal. It show that people, whoever they are, care and that is amazing for us.”

The 21-month-old youngster was snatched on the 24 July 1991 as he tot played outside the farmhouse his grandparents were renovating while his mum was at work at a local hotel. Since then Kerry and her family have funded their own investigation into Ben’s disappearance, visiting the island dozens of times. There have been hundreds of sightings of Ben but all proved negative.

The Greek authorities have now officially re-opened case for the first time since Ben’s disappearance and South Yorkshire police have travelled to Kos to liaise with their counterparts. Office worker Kerry, who also has an 18-year-old daughter called Leighanna, said: “Ben’s 22nd birthday was three months ago and I think about him every day.

"I have searched for Ben for more than 20 years and I will never give up. I am convinced he is alive and now things are beginning to happen which give me even more hope. “The Greek authorities have finally re-opened the case and social networking sites are a marvellous tool to have, The 'tweet 4 Ben' was a great idea and has been a tremendous success in putting Ben’s disappearance back into the spotlight.”
