Tom Cruise instructs Suri how to swim... when thrilling lodging visitors with a rockstar appearance on his gallery

Top Gun Tom Cruise soared into action, by giving his daughter Suri a one-on-one swimming lesson. Playing the part of the doting father, Cruise kept close watch over his daughter as they practised paddling around the water yesterday in Miami, Florida. Even though he was covered up to his neck in water, the 49-year-old maintained a cool composure as he floated with a fedora on top of his head.

Tom Cruise instructs Suri how to swim... when thrilling lodging visitors with a rockstar appearance on his gallery
Cruise was enjoying some well earned leisure time with his wife Katie Holmes, 32 , and adorable daughter Suri, five, after toiling away on the set of new film, Rock of Ages. Katie and Suri both opted to brave a wet head, though the former wound her hair into a chignon to keep it from the chlorinated water, a look that it fast becoming a favourite of hers.

The Don't Be Afraid of the Dark star opted for a black bikini and white shorts when she hopped out of the pool, where she sat lovingly alongside her muscle-bound husband. The Cruises looked like any other family enjoying some precious time together as they dined on pasta at the hotel, then opted to cool off in the secluded pool, where Tom helped Suri swim in an adorable show of father-daughter affection.

Suri appeared to be wearing a pink and blue swimming costume, rather than a dress as she did on Miami beach last month, when Katie had possibly been unprepared.Tom was seen serenading his ladies at one point, no doubt with one of the rock classics he's been working on for the hotly tipped blockbuster. And that afternoon, his performance extended to the whole hotel, as he emerged on his balcony to give an impromptu performance.

The shirtless star was practising for an upcoming scene in his film Rock of Ages with a vocal coach, but wasn't shy about showing off his moves for all the world to see. Later that evening, Tom took his wife to a South Beach restaurant for dinner. While the actor went for dark jeans and a white shirt with a red and blue trim, Katie donned skinny white jeans a see-through knitted blue top which showed her pink bra underneath.

It's the first break for the A-Lister since he was feted by 40 of his close friends and family members in a surprise party organised by Katie at SoHo Beach House in Miami, on July 3. Among the attendees were Cruise's three children – Isabella, 18, and Connor, 16, from his marriage to Nicole Kidman. The birthday shindig took place both inside the SoHo Beach House and on its roof, where guests dined on Italian dishes as well as chocolate cake, according to the People.

Katie was delighted that she managed to pull off the surprise, and couldn't hide her glee as she arrived at the bash, looking lovely without a scrap of make-up. Excited about the festivities, the mother-of-one then broke into dance, moving to the beat of some Caribbean music as she arrived for the party.

Tom, dressed in a white shirt and his fedora hat yet again sat contently at the table as he kept a close eye on Suri who was playing with a beach ball nearby. Ever the fashionista, Suri wore a grey striped dress paired with her favourite gold heels for the occasion, She accessorised the look with some blue wayfarers and had painted her fingernails red Katie had to say goodbye to her husband after the shindig, to fulfil work commitments, but was obviously keen to get back to Miami to see him.

The actor is giving his all to this adaptation of the Broadway musical, in which he stars alongside Russell Brand and Alec Baldwin as a long-haired, tattooed rocker called Stacee Jaxx. It's a very different role for Cruise, and Katie has given her backing to the career departure by revealing that her husband likes to perform at their home. 'Tom is such an amazing performer. Yes, we have music in our house and it’s amazing,' she told Access Hollywood recently.

Tom Cruise requested naan and curry to stay away from flight's 'elastic omelette'

Tom Cruise ordered a takeaway meal that included spicy naan and curry, to avoid the horrible cuisines that are delivered in flight. A PR company representing Tamarind in London's Mayfair has claimed that the restaurant prepared a takeaway meal for the Top Gun star to eat on his flight from the UK, reports the Sun.

Cruise is said to have preferred his curry to the standard rubber omelette and bacon lumps everyone gets served for an in-flight meal. His plate included chicken tikka masala, black lentils, aloo gobi, spinach and naan bread.

Tom Cruise on the UAE

Posted in : Gossips

Tom Cruise on the UAETom Cruise opens up about filming in the city, that death-defying stunt and family life...

Leaping across the United Arab sky with biceps bulging and six-pack tort, and still flashing his cheeky yet charming famous smile, Tom Cruise puts all other stuntmen to shame. Scaling the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa, in his latest Mission Impossible offering Ghost Protocol he proves he is fitter, hotter and less scared than ever. Turning 49 last week, Tom has shown that much like a vintage wine he has developed with age, having successfully transformed himself from ‘that’ guy who jumped up and down on Oprah’s sofa to the American Bond who also happens to be a hands on dad.

Tom came to Dubai last year to film his riskiest stunt to date scaling the 2,717ft city icon. In the new movie, released next month, he can be seen running across the glass façade seemingly without fear. Tom said of working in the UAE, “I’ve always wanted to shoot in this city. The first requirement was already met. It’s a new set, a new city and it hasn’t been photographed much. It has the scale we need for such a big movie so we feel lucky to be the first to shoot such a film in Dubai.”

Calling Dubai the centrepiece of the blockbuster movie he continued, “I want to thank Sheikh Mohammed for making this film happen in the beautiful city. It was important to have the communities help and we definitely have had that generosity here.”

It has been six years since Tom declared his love for wife Katie Holmes by jumping up and down on Oprah Winfrey’s sofa during an interview. While he hoped the move would make people realise his true feelings, it, in fact, sent Tom on a downward spiral, with fans criticising his OTT behaviour. The actor has since been ridiculed on a regular basis, particularly for Scientology beliefs.

He said of that interview, “What happened, happened... I’ll take responsibility for my actions... Afterward, wild things were being said about me, and once they’re in the ether, there’s nothing you can do about it. It felt like being the new kid in the schoolyard again and the other kids are whispering and whispering about you and suddenly you hear what they’re saying, and you think, What? That didn’t happen. Look at the reality of the situation.”

By revealing his emotions he perhaps broke actor protocol and certainly paid the price for it. But ever the pro, he never slowed down or quit. “Those are times you learn a lot about life. You’re back to, How do I figure this out? I’d lived through so many different periods in life that I had a good idea. You just get back to work. You move forward. That’s what I did. And here we are today. Mission: Impossible IV,” he said proving his resolute character.

Tom is a movie veteran, a fact that perhaps has allowed him to be strong through tough times. He’s a child star who has survived the pitfalls of fame. A heartthrob in the 1980s and 1990s he still manages to make women swoon, but that’s not why he joined the business – though he is yet to win an Oscar, showbusiness is his passion.

The actor is sentimental when he discusses how he developed his love for acting, while for many stars it was about getting attention for him it was about protecting his mum and sisters after his father walked out on them. He explains, “If anyone was teasing my sisters, I really felt it… I’d create different characters and ad-lib sketches to make my sisters and my mother feel better. I’d try to make them laugh. I’d do Donald Duck as John Wayne. I’d watch Soul Train and imitate the dancers. I guess you can say that’s where it started. I always had a dream to be in movies, [my family] didn’t say, That’s impossible. They laughed.”

Stepping into his father’s role Tom didn’t have many friend’s growing up, something he admits that always made him crave his own family, confessing “You hear about people who have lifelong friends. I never was in a place long enough to have them. So that role was filled by my family.”

As well as having two adoptive kids with his second wife Nicole Kidman – Connor, 16, and Isabel, 18 – Tom also has a biological daughter with Katie, little Suri, who although only five-years-old is somewhat of a celebrity already.

“I have to say some of those paparazzi shots of my daughter are incredible,” he says joking about the media obsession with the celebuspawn. “As a parent you protect your children but Suri is a very open and warm child and she will just wave to people on the street. She is such happy, fun girl. She’s very much a real girl”

When questioned about rumours of a spilt and talks of a potential sellotape baby to save his marriage to Katie, Tom jokes off the comments, a sign that he is used to it – “Because we do live in a cynical world. It’s easy to be cynical. Making the choice not to be cynical is important. You can keep dwelling on what didn’t work, or you can figure out how to fix it. Which is what being a parent is all about. You know, I’m married to such a special woman. Every night before we go to sleep, Kate and I look at each other and it’s like, How’d we do today?”

And what about baby number two? “When Suri was born we just shut down everything for months to be with her,” he says denying talk that they want to expand their brood. “But now I’m making movies, and Kate is loving being on Broadway because it has been a dream of hers, so we are enjoying this time too.”

One thing is for sure, with Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol set to be a major blockbuster hit, and with the actor already receiving praise for his performance as a rock star in yet to be released Rock Of Ages, its clear Tom is back. Gone is the freak that was portrayed by the media and in is the daredevil actor and humble family man who also happens to be extremely good-looking. There’s no doubt that Tom still is the top gun.

Tom Cruise drives newfangled BMW i8 in most cutting edge Mission Impossible motion pictureWe all know and love the Mission Impossible movies. Tom Cruise has been playing Ethan Hunt for years now and always keeps us on the edge of our seats when we are watching him on the screen. This movie he is going to get a new set of wheels that go great with his attitude.

The release of the first trailer for “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” was released and along with that BMW confirmed that its futuristic i8 plug-in hybrid supercar is one of the vehicles that will be appearing on the film. This car will actually be going on the market in 2013 and while many details are still top secret the i8 is expected to mainly constructed from lightweight carbon fiber and give driver 62 mpg when operating in its hybrid mode. That may make people think that the car is going to be slow but BMW says that the car will be able to go from 0 to 60 in less than five seconds. That will give Ethan Hunt plenty of time to leave bad guys in the dust

Tom Cruise act again in 'Mission: Impossible 4'

Posted in : Gossips, Movies

(added few months ago!)

The new movie trailer for Mission: Impossible 4 just came out, and actor Tom Cruise is the new topic of debate in "hot or not?" discussions. Over age 40, does the Hollywood actor still cut it as a stud in the new action adventure theme movie?
Tom Cruise act again in 'Mission Impossible 4'
Generation X members remember the hot young actor as the lucky and slick teen from the cult classic Risky Business who romanced older actress Rebecca De Mornay both on- and off-screen. He wowed Baby Boomers and WWII Generation members who saw him on the big screen as the cocky pilot and lead hero in the blockbuster film Top Gun [one of the top grossing films of all time]. Since that time, Tom Cruise had his choice of movie roles, always aiming to be the smart, savvy, sexy super hero wannabe. But now that actor is getting older, was married and divorced from actresses Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman, and is blissfully wed to actress and new Ann Taylor model Katie Holmes... Does the celebrity dad of Isabella, Connor, and Suri still have what it takes to be a sex symbol in the 21st century?

The short answer to that question (with no "Tom Cruise is short" puns intended) is YES. Fans of the actor and even those who think Cruise is a bit of a flake seem to agree that he is the real deal when it comes to holding his own in the Mission: Impossible series despite the fact he was born July 3rd, 1962 (making him 48 years old already). He's only 5'7" tall, by the way—but in his mind, most think he towers above just about anybody.

Huffington Post shared the movie plot summary, saying, "Tom Cruise returns for a fourth chapter in the Mission: Impossible franchise, the Brad Bird-directed Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol... Filmed in Dubai, it sets up Hunt and his crew on a seemingly impossible escape mission, with any slip-up meaning they'll be labeled terrorists."

MTV movie news chimed in about the trailer and the enduring hotness of the man, the myth, the legend, writing, "If there is one thing we can count on from Tom Cruise in a Mission: Impossible movie, it is mind-blowing action and stunt sequences. From his first foray into the spy-tastic world of Ethan Hunt to his fourth, the upcoming Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, Cruise has been one-upping himself in the stunt category."

Making no bones about their affection for the Hollywood movie star with timeless, multigenerational appeal, they also say that judging from the first official new movie trailer for the film that released Tuesday evening (June 28), the film is definitely going to be a huge success. Will it be a hit because of the hero's hotness, or will the movie series continue to make big bucks because the fictional character Ethan Hunt is himself a hottie?

Watch the new video clip and spy for yourself. Then, you decide—does he still have it when it comes to being sexy, or is middle age handicapping him and giving younger star celebs an advantage? Of special note is the very real fact that despite his age and status as a family man, he did most of his own stunt work for each breathtaking scene.

First look: Tom Cruise's latest movie 'Rock of Ages'

Posted in : Movies

(added few months ago!)

He engaged in a barroom sing-along to You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' in Top Gun. But you've never seen or heard Tom Cruise like this. In Rock of Ages, next summer's big-screen adaptation of the hit Broadway jukebox musical that celebrates the '80s heyday of power ballads and glam metal, Cruise transforms into Stacee Jaxx, a superstar devotee of hair-band excess.

First look: Tom Cruise's latest movie 'Rock of Ages'

"His character has elements of Axl Rose, Keith Richards and Bret Michaels," says director Adam Shankman, calling from the film's Miami set. "We did a huge amount of research on what people were going through in this period." He also relied on personal experience. "I knew a lot of these people because my dad was a music business manager."

Today, that knowledge will be put to the test as Cruise shoots his first scene, which involves wailing Def Leppard's Pour Some Sugar on Me. It was the actor, a fan of Shankman's version of Hairspray with John Travolta, who first approached him with the idea of doing a movie musical together. One problem: "But I couldn't think of what musical would work with him," the director says. But after seeing Cruise dance with wife Katie Holmes as she sang Whatever Lola Wants at a charity event last year and pull off his comedy shtick as obnoxious producer Les Grossman in Tropic Thunder and on

MTV, Shankman was convinced he might be right for the Rock of Ages front man. "I thought, who better to play the biggest rock god in the world but the biggest movie star in the world?" Just to make sure, the actor's vocal chops were put to the test after some coaching. Turns out, "He has a huge voice."

Just as Shankman adjusted Hairspray when it went from stage to screen, so, too, has Rock of Ages undergone a makeover. "It is the exact same spirit. But the tone on Broadway was campier, which makes it difficult to connect to the characters. We raise the emotional stakes. We had to give it some weight."
That includes changing Jaxx from less of a predatory snake to more of a lost boy. "We made him what these guys are, man children," Shankman says. "Someone no one says no to. More of an innocent who does something wrong and doesn't know it."

While Cruise gets to belt out classics of the era such as Bon Jovi's Wanted Dead or Alive, Scorpions' Rock You Like a Hurricane and joins in a group performance of Journey's Don't Stop Believin', he also tackles a fair share of fancy footwork choreographed by Mia Michaels of TV's So You Think You Can Dance.
Says Shankman, "Does Tom dance? Let me put it this way. He is dancing so much, we are all exhausted and laying down on the floor. He is dancing us into the ground. I've never seen someone who wants to rehearse more."

Tom Cruise in converses with star in 'One Shot' for Christopher McQuarrie

Posted in : Gossips, Movies

(added few months ago!)

Tom Cruise in converses with star in 'One Shot' for Christopher McQuarrieWe already know the actor has committed to star in Universal's big budget sci-fi project Horizons (the project formerly known as Oblivion from Tron Legacy director Joseph Kosinski), but Tom Cruise might get another project off the ground before then. Deadline reports Cruise is negotiating with Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions to star in One Shot, an adaptation of Lee Child's novel of the same name which features the author's recurring character, former military policeman-turned drifter Jack Reacher. Some fans may be scratching their heads at Cruise's potential casting. Find out why below!

The recurring character who appears in fifteen of Child's novels is described in the books as being 6'5" and weighing in at 250 pounds. Cruise certainly isn't the tallest actor in Hollywood (quite the opposite) and while he's physically fit, he certainly doesn't get anywhere near a beefy 250 pounds. Of course, a big name actor taking on a popular book franchise will get butts in the seats, so that's the way the cookie crumbles. Anyway the author is behind the casting all the way saying, "Reacher's size in the books is a metaphor for an unstoppable force, which Cruise portrays in his own way." Here's what kind of trouble Reacher gets into as per the book's official synopsis:

In addition, the film will reunite Cruise with Valkyrie writer Christopher McQuarrie who will be directing from his own script (his first directing gig since The Way of the Gun in 2000). If a deal with Cruise comes together quickly, the film will shoot later this year. However, since Horizons is already slated to start production in January of 2012, if One Shot can't come together in time, it will shoot after Cruise finishes the sci-fi flick at Universal. This sounds like it's just a grittier version of something we've seen Cruise do already in the Mission Impossible franchise, but I guess he's been a fan of the series for awhile. Interested?

Tom Cruise marks for Sci-Fi Film ‘Oblivion’

Posted in : Gossips, Movies

(added few months ago!)

Tom Cruise marks for Sci-Fi Film ‘Oblivion’Tom Cruise has signed to star in Universal’s Oblivion, the passion project of Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski. Cruise has loosely been attached to lead the $100 million project, a dystopian sci-fi thriller set on a bleak, post-apocalyptic Earth when civilization lives above the clouds and the surface is plagued by alien scavengers.  According to Deadline, he officially signed for an October shoot. Cruise will play a soldier stuck alone on the surface repairing attack drones, until the discovery of a beautiful woman “forces him to question his world view.”  It sounds kind of like Wall-E…

Disney gave Kosinski his first shot at directing a feature after a Tron sizzle reel wowed audiences at Comic-Con, so he took Oblivion to Disney first, who picked it up last summer before realizing a bleak sci-fi film doesn’t quite fit with its family-friendly image. Instead, Universal acquired the rights to the now PG-13 adaptation, based on a graphic novel Kosinski brought to Radical Publishing circa 2005 as a means to prove the concept.  (See some of the graphic novel’s art here.) William Monahan (The Departed) wrote the adapted screenplay and Karl Gajdusek (”Dead Like Me”) will give it a polish. The graphic novel hits shelves in August.

Cruise was also attached to Universal and Guillermo del Toro’s $150 million movie At the Mountains of Madness when the filmmaker was trying to get his own passion project off the ground.  When the studio balked at the price tag, del Toro left to make Pacific Rim and Universal apparently found something else for Cruise.  The star was mentioned for Rim, but it seems Charlie Hunnam landed the role instead.
