If you challenge Tom Cruise to a dance battle, he will accept. And will most likely defeat you. TMZ has obtained video of the actor accepting a dance challenge at the weekend wedding of “Mission Impossible — Ghost Protocol” executive producer David Ellison. Of course, anyone who has seen “Tropic Thunder” knows that Cruise can get down. But his real life moves are something else.

Think he knows the Electric Slide? Tom Cruise got down on the dance floor at the weekend wedding of movie producer David Ellison and actress Sandy Modic in Palm Springs, Calif.

Tom Cruise Has Dance-Off With Pals at Wedding

The New York Post's Page Six reports that Cruise, 49, wife Katie Holmes and their five-year-old daughter Suri were among the guests for the nuptials; the son of tech billionaire Larry Ellison, David is executive producer of Cruise's upcoming film Mission: Impossible -- Ghost Protocol.

And Cruise -- who famously busted moves in Risky Business and as Les Grossman in Tropic Thunder -- was happy to let loose, according to a witness. "Suri went to bed before the reception," an observer told Page Six, "and then Tom had a dance-off with a few of the guys in the wedding party."

The superstar is also set to show off his wilder side -- and sing! -- as a headbanger in the all-star heavy metal musical Rock of Ages, currently shooting."He can sing!" director Adam Shankman told E! News in February of Cruise's turn as Stacee Jaxx. "It's a miracle!"

Tom Cruise participates in a wedding dance-off

Hollywood star Tom Cruise got involved in a dance-off at a wedding in Palm Springs, California. The 48-year-old actor was a guest of technology billionaire Larry Ellison at the wedding of his son David and actress Sandy Modic in Palm Springs, California, and showcased his fancy footwork at the reception,
reported New York Post.

Cruise, his wife Katie Holmes and their five-year-old daughter Suri had attended the ceremony, but they put their daughter to bed before hitting  the dance floor.

"Hole in One. Suri went to bed before the reception, and then Tom had a dance-off with a few of the guys in the wedding party," a source said. This is not the first time the 'Mission Impossible' star has got himself  involved in a dancing showdown. At the MTV Movie Awards last year he reprised his role as Hollywood producer Les Grossman from 'Tropic Thunder' and pulled out some of his character's madcap trademark moves in a battle against Jennifer Lopez.

His wedding performance possibly saw him trying out some of the dances he's been learning on set for his latest role as Stacee Jaxx in new film  'Rock of Ages', an adaptation of a Broadway musical, about a rocker trying to make it in Los Angeles in the 1980s.

Tom Cruise Reaches New Heights In Mission: Impossible IMAX Poster

Posted in : Gossips, Movies

(added few months ago!)

If you didn’t know any better, you might think it was Tom Cruise, and not Andrew Garfield, playing Spider-Man in next summer’s reboot of the web-slinger’s Amazing franchise. Instead, Cruise simply does his best wall-crawling impersonation of the spectacular Spidey in an all-new Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol poster that was created to promote the sequel’s release on IMAX screens beginning Dec. 16. Here’s the poster (via Yahoo Movies). Don’t look down.

Tom Cruise Reaches New Heights In Mission: Impossible IMAX Poster

The striking shot references the breathtaking high-wire stunts Cruise performed on the side of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai – the world’s tallest skyscraper, and just another playground for the fearless action star. (The sequence also is featured heavily in the film’s trailer, which you can see right HERE.)

In Ghost Protocol, Cruise returns as Ethan Hunt, leading spy for the IMF who is forced, once again, to go off the grid when he’s blamed for a bombing at the Kremlin. He’s joined by Impossible cohorts Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg and Paula Patton, as well as newcomers Jeremy Renner and Tom Wilkinson. The reason I’m intrigued is because Protocol marks the live-action directorial debut of Brad Bird, whose credits include the outstanding animated features The Iron Giant and The Incredibles. That, and Cruise dangles from the side of the world’s tallest building! Seriously, people, if that doesn’t help put butts in seats for a fourth Mission: Impossible, I’m not sure what will.

Tom Cruise is coming to Mumbai

Posted in : Gossips

(added few months ago!)

Tom Cruise’s fans don’t have to trek it all the way to Hollywood and plead with his guard dogs to let them in to get their favourite star’s autograph, like the guys in the Tata Sky advert do, because Tom is coming to India.

Tom Cruise is coming to Mumbai

He will be arriving in Mumbai in mid-December for a day to promote the latest film in his Mission Impossible series. This movie is titled Mission Impossible — Ghost Protocol. Then he flies off to Dubai.

The reason he is coming to India to promote his film is because apart from Anil Kapoor also acting in the film, there seems to be another Indian angle in it.

The official trailer reveals Cruise and his co-star Paula Patton walking into a glamourous Indian looking palace hotel, the kind you would find in Rajasthan. And inside the dance performers look like they are straight out of Umrao Jaan.

Tom Cruise classic 'Top Gun' getting 3D treatment

Posted in : Gossips, Movies

(added few months ago!)

Back to the Danger Zone: Tom Cruise classic Top Gun is being prepped for a cinema re-release in 3D, according to a report. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Tony Scott's 1986 blockbuster is being converted into 3D, for a potential 2012 re-release.

A four-minute 3D preview of the movie's iconic 'Danger Zone' sequence was shown at the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) in Amsterdam on Monday, says THR.

The film is apparently being converted by Legend3D for Paramount. Legend3D CEO, Rob Hummel, said at the event: "I think Top Gun lends itself to 3D due to the aerial flight. You can have fun with 3D by bringing things off the screen if they are not attached to the edge of the screen."

He added: "We think there is great potential for catalogue titles in 3D, but studios have had trouble justifying the expense." As for a mooted release date, Hummel adds: "As I understand it, they are planning to release it in 3D in early 2012, though I know they want to get Tony Scott's approval before they go forward."

Paramount's reps "could not confirm any immediate plans for a 3-D release date," reports Entertainment Weekly . The movie, starring Cruise as "Maverick", recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. A possible sequel to the flick has been touted for years, with Scott telling EW last year that Cruise could be back for Top Gun 2.

"We've been talking with Tom definitely," he said in November. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer also said: "The aviation community has completely changed since we made the movie a long time ago. So we have to find a way in and how to incorporate the Maverick character into it". Titanic, The Lion King, Star Wars, and now Top Gun looks set to wing its way to cinemas in 3D. What do you think? Do you feel the need, the need for Top Gun in 3D? Hey, at least it's not a reboot.

Tom Cruise is apart from everyone else in the first blurb for Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol

Posted in : Gossips, Movies

(added few months ago!)

A while ago, Paramount debuted a picture of Tom Cruise in a hoody, from the fourth film in the Mission Impossible franchise called MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: GHOST PROTOCOL.  Well, I guess they liked that picture so much they decided to turn it into a teaser poster.  I’d like to point out that even though all the talk was that Jeremy Renner was going to eventually replace Cruise in the franchise, Tom Cruise has been the sole focus of everything we’ve seen so far.  Hopefully, Paramount is re-thinking that ridiculous notion and has come to their senses, realize TC still has major star power.

MI4 features Ethan Hunt and his team on a mission to clear the IMF name after they’re implicated in a national terrorist plot.  Along with Cruise, the film stars Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Paula Patton, Josh Holloway and Michael Nyqvist.  Pixar vet Brad Bird is directing the film that hits theaters on December 21st.

Tom Cruise's 'Mission Impossible' to release in Christmas

Posted in : Gossips, Movies

(added few months ago!)

The fourth instalment of Tom Cruise starrer 'Mission Impossible' franchise will release during the Christmas holiday season this year.

Tom Cruise's 'Mission Impossible' to release in Christmas

Paramount Pictures has made several changes in its release calendar, including moving up the release date for 'Mission:Impossible - Ghost Protocol' to December 21, 2011 and dating 'One Shot', also starring Tom Cruise, for February 8, 2013, reported Variety online.

The studio has also slated 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' for June 29, 2012, moving 'Star Trek 2' out of the slot to a date not yet announced. The new date puts 'Mission' in the middle of the holiday rush, the same weekend as David Fincher's remake of 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' and Paramount's 'The Adventures of Tintin'.

'One Shot' will be directed by Chris McQuarrie and is based on the Lee Child book series that focused on Jack Reacher, a former military policeman who drifts from city to city defending those who can't defend themselves.

Tom Cruise will play Jack Reacher in Lee Child's ONE SHOT!

Posted in : Gossips

(added few months ago!)

After reports of involvement broke last month, Tom Cruise has now signed on to what could potentially be a tentpole series at Paramount and Skydance Productions, striking a deal to play the former military policemen now wandering loner, Jack Reacher, in the first film adaptation of the highly acclaimed fifteen book series by Lee Child.

Tom Cruise will play Jack Reacher in Lee Child's ONE SHOT!

Cruise’s new favourite screenwriter Chris McQuarrie who wrote his vehicles Valkyrie, Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol (financed by Paramount and Skydance) and the in-development Top Gun sequel, has adapted One Shot, the ninth book in Child’s best-selling 15 novel series. McQuarrie will also direct with shooting to begin in the fall and if you are doubting his directorial talents, seek out The Way of the Gun.

If the story is stays true to the books, the film is set to place Reacher in the middle of a case about a military sniper who is believed to have murdered 5. The further Reacher digs into the investigation he finds corruption, cover-ups, and conspiracies piled one on top of another.

When the rumors swirled recently of Cruise’s potential attachment to the role of Jack Reacher, some considerable uproar was voiced by loyal followers of the series. Reacher is described as an imposing 6’5” tall mammoth of a man with blonde locks and weighing in near 250 pounds and Cruise on a good day stands at a very complimentary 5’7” of slim muscular build, and with signature dark hair.

If anyone has truly followed Cruise’s career they will know he need not be a large imposing figure, instead carrying himself in such a fashion that is almost more imposing in itself. His turns as the precise hit-man for hire Vincent in Collateral, or the ever intimidating Ethan Hunt in the Mission: Impossible series, and even the more light hearted take in the action romance Knight and Day, have easily shown Cruise is capable of kicking you-know-what and taking names in whatever fashion necessary. He is believable in these roles.

A vote of confidence from the writer of the series seems to give solid hope with Childs remarking at the casting; The film is set to be produced by Don Granger and Cruise, through Mutual Film Company and C/W Productions. Joining production are Skydance’s David Ellison and Dana Goldberg along with Gary Levinsohn and Paula Wagner.

This isn’t the first time a popular literary character has been given the make-over for Hollywood star and we are sure it won’t be the last. In fact, Cruise fans will probably remember the outrage author Anne Rice and her fans had at pretty boy Cruise’s casting as Lestat the Vampire in Interview With The Vampire in the mid 90′s but they all came around when they saw exactly what the actor did with the role. Rice famously did a complete U-turn and said he was magnificent.

We are banking on Cruise making the Reacher character his own. Cruise will make the movie before work on Joseph Kosinski’s Oblivion begins at Universal in January. Sound off in our comments section on whether you think Cruise will bring the intensity and intimidation of a 6’5”, 250 pound man in what could be yet another awesome vehicle for Cruise!
